Can I subscribe, if my company is not a MATRADE member?
Yes, as long as you are a producer or service provider. However, you must first get your company to register online with MATRADE via www.matrade.gov.my.
Central Malaysia (Klang Valley) will be the first area to be launched. When will the others be launched?
The 2nd phase will focus on ads locations in southern and northern parts of Malaysia, and will be launched in April 2009. The tentative sales launching date for ads locations overseas is in May 2009. Booking forms for various ads locations should be returned to us. They are available on our RATE CARD leaflets. You can also make reservations via www.medtradenet.com. We need to know your locations of interest prior to announcing which locations we shall commence first.
Where will the kiosk venues in Klang Valley be?
Initially, the kiosks will be placed at the following venues:
Malaysian Exporters Exhibition Centre (MEEC), MATRADE KL – 3 units, MIDA HQ – 1 unit, SMIDEC HQ – 1 unit, MITI office - 1 unit, Menara KL - 2 units, PWTC - 2 units, KLCC - 2 units.
Where else will they be placed?
If subscriber numbers increase, other venues will be hotels, LCCT and KLIA.
Are there any other noteworthy venues?
We will be participating in several trade exhibition events, namely MIHAS ‘09, INTRADE ‘09, SMIDEX ‘09 and INTERIORS ‘09. Your products and services will not only be exposed to visitors from our booth, but also from various other points in the exhibition hall.
Are there any other noteworthy events?
We will be participating in 6 other trade fairs as a bonus to maximise your exposure.
What are the charges for other ads locations in Malaysia? For Northern (Penang, Kedah, Perak) and Southern (Johor, Melaka, Negeri Sembilan) areas, the rate is RM 3,190 for each zone as no more flash montage costs will be charged on you if you have already subscribed for Central zone. For these ads locations, you need to subscribe to both zones. In this case, charges will double to RM 6,380. As for other zones in Malaysia i.e. East Coast and East Malaysia, we have yet to hear feedback. In the meantime, these zones will remain under observation.
How many kiosks will be placed in each subscribed location?
Each location will have a minimum of 12 units. As subscribers grow, so will the numbers of kiosks. Currently, MATRADE has over 14,000 registered members. Regardless of whether they are active or non-active members, companies are after any new and effective avenues where they can promote their products and services further. Based on the figure, we expect at least 3,000 members to subscribe to our platform although our target is to have at least 5,000 subscribers for all three zones within a year. As the calculation numbers are based on an estimate of 100 subscribers per kiosk, should subscriptions reach up to 5000 subscribers, there will be at least 50 kiosks in each zone or 150 kiosks in all zones.
Will this platform work, and will my investment get its return?
Certainly. If you subscribe to the 3 zones: central, northern and southern, you’ll be paying an estimated amount of RM 10 K. If your company is entitled to a government grant, you’ll only pay RM 5 K. For this fair amount of money, and to have 150 kiosks (if achievable) broadcasting your ads at 150 different high foot traffic spots throughout almost the entire country, there are no doubts about its success and the security of your investment. It is important to know that MEDTradeNet is a platform of trade ad not any common commercial ad but subscribing in ad location locally, it helps in getting your message across to consumers as well. Specifically, though, the intention of this platform is to reach international buyers. Even if you get only one buyer throughout one year of your subscription, your investment still pays off. You’ll also achieve more as you may retain the buyer and make profits out of the resulting generated businesses. Don’t forget that in Malaysia, the platform will also generate you an income from businesses you may receive from fellow subscribing members.
Should I choose to subscribe, how effectively will this platform promote my product as many companies are permitted to subscribe?
Although the number of subscribers may number up to 5000, the actual competitors within your business category are only limited to 10. Even then, having huge numbers of subscribers will not increase the numbers of your rivals.
How fast can the user locate my ad and information?
It can be done within 10 seconds. By selecting the "PRODUCT" icon on the touch screen monitor followed by the "CATEGORY" and then "SUB CATEGORY" icons, your ad along with a maximum of 10 competitors will appear on the screen. As buyers are usually specific in searching for products, the kiosk’s organized catalogue of business categories ensures maximum information in a minimal amount of time.
How does the kiosk attract buyers if you were to locate it at say, a convention center entrance?
The prime function of the main screen is to lure buyers to the kiosk. By broadcasting a continuous string of ads from various business categories, viewers’ especially the potential buyers’ curiosity will be stirred. The heart of the system is actually the touch screen monitor, as it plays an essential role in relaying your corporate information to users.
Do you entertain requests to broadcast company corporate videos?
Yes, we do. Charges are made at a discounted price based on the duration of the video display.
If I don’t subscribe, what will I stand to lose?
You’ll miss new business opp ortunities that MEDTradeNet generates. Besides trade fairs, business matching, trade missions and the like, business professionals worldwide today are looking for their source of supply from business or trade portals or via online portals such as Google, Yahoo and MSN. Honestly, though, do trade portals really lead you to the kind of business opportunities you expect? They seldom happen, but even if you do receive enquiries, most of them are from false buyers. This is the most common complaint made by trade portal subscribers. Furthermore, searching for your products or services from the web master platform usually leaves you behind as you’ll not be on the front list of the buyer’s desired item. There is a stark contrast between advertising and Internet sourcing: the first is about pushing, while the second is about pulling.
